This morning as I open my bible I flip to Habakkuk and read the last few lines:
“Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me tread on my high places.”

in the arms of a good father you can go
to the deep water where the questions
that we have left unspoken come out in the open
we will find shelter here
so i lay down what i can not hold in my hands
every sorrow and hope is spinning out of control
and here i find sweet resolution
it comes in letting go

God help me to understand
what makes a man a man
not speaking of man as humanity
but as male as opposed to female?
isn’t it more than hormones and body parts?
“So God created Man in His own image,
In the image of God he created them;
Male and female he created them.”1
