Today I was wandering about journaling and how to write in my blog and I remembered Renato Amato’s blog http://healingbrokenhearts.com and listened to the audio on the home page. I was touched by his message. That we can stop and set aside the time to approach God with our brokenness. Here are the verses I found on his web site:
“The Lord is near to them that are of A BROKEN HEART; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalms 34:18).
“Whenever you are in need, go bravely before …

It is amazing how refreshing running outside is, time in God’s beautiful creation. I have been spending time writing my testimony today, saying goodbye to family, and doing a little bit of reading, and just meditation and thinking. I just got back from church and mom and dad are making dinner downstairs. I am really looking forward to going to Messiah College this winter! I’ve been thinking about the people I’ll meet there and the experiences that await. I am praying for this next two years in Grantham, Pennsylvania. I …

“Be holy. Be healed. Be human. Because the light shines forth in the darkness, giving power to us all to become children of God. But every time that voice rings out, we answer with the voice of our own littleness, our own earthboundness, that such things are too wonderful for us, that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, that we can will what is right but cannot bring it about. It is no easy matter to save us when half the time we don’t even want to …

Tonight I’m listening to Tchaikovski, one who had a lot of anxiety in his own life. Contrary to his public life, he was terrified of people and easily cried and was also gay. The heights that he reached with his music are anything but weak. Emotionalism runs deep with the music, and it is beautiful. I think music is an emotional outlet for me that helps to express the deep feelings in ways that are constructive and meaningful. Maybe if I find a way to express myself with music it …

Happy Thanksgiving!
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 4-7
I hope you have a wonderful holiday with much to be thankful for!
I think it is good to approach …

I just got done with a good jam session. I played the box drum, my brother on the guitar, and his friends playing mandolin and bass guitar. It was my first time playing it with other people and it was great. I built the drum from scratch and it’s definitely cool to play an instrument you made with your own hands, even if it is not especially beautiful like mine. It sounds good though, and I had a good time. I just sort of gave a go at it without …

Listening to Gustov Holst as I write this. You can almost tell it is near thanksgiving by the weather and the look of things by the environment. The trees appear today in all their bareness. When I walk outside I am surrounded by greys, browns, yellows, and reds. There is a stillness to the air and to the world.

Today’s Confessions
Today I sit with much food for thought and much to write down. Joe and I talked about predestination today, what a difficult subject. …
